IT'S MONDAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely not my normal sentiment towards Monday (which is odd, because I don't work full time so Monday isn't a lot different from the weekend, but, I digress).

However, this Monday is special.

It is the Monday after yesterday, and yesterday was the last big brohaha I was involved with that had stress as part of the equation.

The Christmas Cantata (I'm the choir director) was last week. The Christmas Play (and my itty bitty part) is over. The family pre-Christmas get togethers are over.

I have nothing "scheduled" between now and Wednesday night when we go to the in-laws. How cool is that.

I get to wrap presents! Bake cookies! Listen to Christmas music! Eat cookies! Play with my kids! Look at Christmas lights! Take pictures! Eat more cookies!

Oh yea.

Very cool. We are going to go caroling one night this week and then go see extended family on Christmas day. So all our church stuff has come to a close as well. Woohoo!

Yea, we spend Christmas Eve with Nard's parents and Christmas Day with my mom and brother and sisters.

We don't do caroling, though the kids from church did a week or so ago (we had a family thing to do, and trav flat refused, so. . . ) -- hahahah. Nobody wants to hear me sing. :P

We actually have decided to carol our neighbors...is carol a verb? Idk. Anyway, we (as a family, not church) have our close neighbors and then we will go to a couple of other folks' homes in our community.

Fortunately Camilla CAN sing (she sang O Holy Night yesterday) and so she drowns me out really well. It is loads of fun and the kids really enjoy it.

And yeah, I cannot see Trav saying, "Oh, mommy can we go SING!!??!!" LOL

I don't know that I've heard Camilla sing, but I HAVE heard Maddy and Lily. Granted, Lily was singing "Grandma Got Ran Over by a Reindeer," but those two little gals can flat out sing.

Good genes? (From their mother, of course).

Travis CAN sing, as well as Kristi, but he is so self-conscious he simply won't. So, yea, I've never heard him ask that either. His questions are more like, "Can we play foot/basket/baseball?" (and recently soccer) but NOT singing.

O yeah, my sweetie can sing. She knocked that high C out of the park yesterday morning. Maddy does very well if she can regress out of the lusty trollop mode like you hear on WMIT and in other contemporary Christian music--you know, all those vapid KLOVE clones.

And Lily is definitely coming into her own. Her ability overextends "Grandma" by a long shot. :)

Me however, well, I get them to sing loud enough to cover me up. Too bad they won't let me preach after we carol. ;-)

There's an insult, there, I know it. However, I've never heard you preach, so I'm not sure I can legitimately deliver it. Hahahahahahaha

Lusty trollop mode?!?!?!

I happen to LIKE Barlow Girl and Natalie Grant!!!

:P

(That's a tongue stuck out smiley face, just for clarity. But I do like "lusty trollop" mode. Maybe I'll outgrow it...)

Happy Hannaka (sp???), by the way....

"Carol" is a verb, btw.

Hanukkah

I like lusty trollop too, but to me that sounds more like something you would use in the bedroom. . .

Well, um, okay, um, something or other.... insert stock utterance here to pass time and divert minds from inappropriate subjects... Yeah.

:)

It's the cookies, man, I swear, it is something in the cookies that made me do that.

Next subject. . .

OK. Just wait until you hear singing like that coming from Kristi's voice box. It will be different then. Or, better yet, just wait until Travis exclaims, "I LIKE the way SHE sings!!!"

And thanks for the vocab lesson, btw.

Bernard Shuford said...

Yeah, there is that :)

Good point, Tony, good point.

Right now, she is singing, "This little light of mine." Can we say, Awwwwwwwww?
