It's Football Day!

Today I took almost 1000 shots over a course of 4 games (972, to be exact).

I'm tired.

From today. . .

Obligatory Trav shot. . . .

Trav shots are never obligatory!

They are a requirement...we can't wait to see them...they are like the famous Christmas letters in the mail...we can't wait to see them!

Little girls shouldn't be cheerleaders. Just my humble opinion. :)

Okay Tony...I'll bite...why should little girls not be cheerleaders? Because they become bigger girls who are cheerleaders?

I'm not Tony, so I don't presume to answer for him, but I don't think what they grow up into is the problem.

I know my issue is that as the little girls get bigger, the skirts and shirts get smaller and smaller. Even at this age, it is difficult for me to photograph them in any position other than standing. Anything else, and their panties are showing. Yes, I know we are not seeing their actual underwear, but what they wear doesn't look a lot different. Thus, a lot of head shots.

The little gals I photograph have really cute warm-up suits for the cool evenings and even cute shorts and t-shirts they wear while waiting for the uniforms to be finished. If that is what they wore for the games and such, I would have very few issues with Kristi being a cheerleader.

I just wish less and less clothes wasn't "cool" for girls. :(

Henry is spam! They are getting more bold these days.

Bro. M. Steve,

I dangled no baited hook in the water. It is simply the opinion of a father of four girls. My concerns echo Karma's. I believe strongly in modesty for girls as well as ladies and cheerleading does not model modesty. (To be sure, my definition of modesty extends beyond dress.)

CJ Mahaney did one of the best sermons on "modesty" that I've ever heard.

Cheerleading has multiple problems for me, as will some of Travis' sports eventually. A large one is the fact that, while I hypocritically WATCH sports on Sundays, I do NOT want my kids to be distracted from church on Sundays by sports participation. (That's not to arbitrarily condemn a certain individual that Karma and I know well, it's just the stance that I feel is best to take.) Our local cheerleading crew has some "mandatory" Sunday stuff. I balk at that.

As well, it's freaking WAY too expensive.

To Tony - I can personally say that I really appreciate the standard of modesty that all "your" ladies exemplify.

I'm a pretty strong proponent of modesty on the part of men, as well, by the way. It's not that women are "tempted" by men as much as men are tempted by women, but rather that when we go ripping our shirts off at the slightest hint of sunshine, we convey the message to women and girls that exposure is acceptable. I know of a certain pastor who almost bragged about "mowing the yard" with his shirt off - and that's his business - but it very easily gets distorted in the mind of the listener as a message that modesty is not important and skin is okay.

And when people sit behind an unsuspecting 12 year old girl who is dressed for cheering and make comments about how much they can see, obviously the outfits are WAY too immodest. Period.

Bernard,

Can you link me to that sermon by Mahaney?

Tony - I THINK this is the right one. It's been a little while since I listened to it, and I was actually listening to their podcast on iTunes, but this looks right.
